Peace

Something that I'm always searching for even after I find it is Peace.

John 14; 27 says "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

That verse always hits my heart with such force, because I know that so many people try to find peace through the things of this world, material things, but it's fleeting. I've felt the "peace" the world has to offer and it's not peace at all it's only temporary satisfaction that shifts with every moment. The Lord gives peace everlasting, his peace is all encompassing, his peace makes me feel whole and loved, his peace gives me strength and makes me want to soar.

When I don't feel the Lord's peace it's because I'm human and I've lost track of HIM, and so I search in vain for peace from the world and most times I don't realize I'm searching till I have an experience or the Spirit whispers with love "Elise, peace", and then I am soaring and feel that the whole world is at my feet and I can do anything if I can just always feel that peace.

And so I felt troubled and afraid today but as I contemplated what to do after work I realized I hadn't taken any nature pictures in such a long time and so I went out my door and found peace. Peace that spoke of the goodness of God, his greatness, his mercy, but most of all his LOVE which creates the peace HE gives! It was wondrous to my soul and I am so grateful for that experience to see through my lens, again, the manifestation of God in my life.
